Whether you're shopping online, traveling, or simply tapping to pay, your peace of mind matters.
Tips for keeping your card safe:
- Treat your card like cash. Never share your card number, CVV (the 3-digit security code), expiration date, or PIN with anyone, even if they claim to be from the credit union. We will never call to ask for this information.
- Avoid writing your PIN down or storing it on your phone.
- Beware of phishing attempts. Metro Plus CU will never ask for your card information via text, email, or phone.
- Keep your card in a secure place and monitor who has access to it.
- Online shopping is convenient, but it can also be a top target for fraud. Always double-check that websites are safe and legitimate before entering your card information.
- Be alert while at the ATM or gas pump. Skimming devices can be used to steal your card data, so it is always a best practice to inspect the card reader for any unusual parts or attachments prior to inserting your card.
- Monitor your accounts regularly. Stay one step ahead of fraud by reviewing your account activity often, at least weekly. The sooner you spot suspicious activity, the sooner we can help resolve it.
